Press Boycott Press Conference

OTTAWA - Yves Malo, president of the parliamentary press gallery held a press conference yesterday to announce that the press were boycotting press conferences.

The announcement however went unreported by the press due to confusion amoung reporters who thought they were supposed to boycott all press-conferences, including Malo's.

Malo then held a second press conference to clarify the press's position to reporters and explain that they were only to boycott press conferences held by the Government and not press conferences held by the press themelves, however that press conference also went unreported due to the reporters initial belief that there was a boycott on.

Later in the day, an exasperated Malo held a third press-conference announcing that the boycott was being lifted temporarily to allow reporters to attend a re-scheduled second press-conference where he would clarify once-and-for-all which press-conferences were to be boycotted and which ones weren't.

The rescheduled second press conference will be held today at 12:00 PM at the Bare Fax on York Street where it is expected to have a better chance of attracting the attention of boycotting reporters.
